British
Airways today announced the appointment of Mike Street, the airline’s
Director for Customer Service and Operations, as a member of the
company’s Board. He will retain his existing management responsibilities
in his new capacity.
Although the appointment is effective immediately, in line with the
company’s articles of association, he will, as a new Board Member, be
required to stand for election by shareholders at the company’s next
annual meeting, in July.
Lord Marshall, British Airways Chairman, said: "Mike Street has made an
immense contribution to British Airways over many years. I am delighted
that he has agreed to extend this level of contribution at the very
highest level in the company and warmly welcome his addition to the
Board."
Confirming how delighted he was with the Board’s decision, Chief
Executive of British Airways, Rod Eddington, said: "I know the Board
will benefit from the inclusion of an additional executive director.
Mike Street, with his wealth of British Airways experience and the high
respect in which he is held throughout the company, is a perfect
choice." |
