PERU, A NEW DESTINATION FOR ACCOR WITH THE OPENING OF SOFITEL ROYAL PARK LIMA

Travel News Asia Date: 8 December 2000

Peru, South America's third largest country, will welcome the first ever Accor property when Sofitel Royal Park Lima opens in the capital on January 1st, 2001.

The hotel is one of the most luxurious 5 star hotels in San Isidro, Lima's main residential and business district, close to the city's historic centre.

With the management of the Sofitel Royal Park Lima, Accor is now present in 6 countries in South America: Peru, Brazil, Colombia, French Guyana, Argentina and Paraguay. Sofitel Royal Park Lima is the latest addition to the Sofitel porfolio, which now includes eleven hotels on the continent, including six in Brazil and four in Colombia.

Built in 1997, the 17-floor hotel, which features contemporary glass and metal architecture, offers 81 luxurious guestrooms including 3 suites.

The property is currently undergoing extensive renovations, such as the addition of a new restaurant and a business centre, in order to support Sofitel's stylish and elegant international image.

Sofitel Royal Park Lima primarily attracts an international business clientele, given its strategic location and facilities which include two large, comfortable and fully equipped meeting rooms, able to accommodate up to 350 people.

The hotel's large terrace with swimming pool and solarium, and the fitness centre appeal to leisure guests who travel to Cuzco to visit the ancient imperial city and the lost Inca city, Machu Picchu.
