"Everyday Low
Fares" customers can save up to 40 per cent
United Airlines is offering competitive market fares to the more than
200 US destinations it serves through its Hong Kong website,
www.ual.com.hk,. This move makes United the first airline in Hong Kong
to provide such a service.
United's "Everyday Low Fares" are available to all destinations in the
United States and are valid for all flights departing Hong Kong to the
United States. As opposed to other initiatives United has led in the
past, ‘Everyday Low Fares’ are available on a much wider, long-term
basis, saving passengers up to 40 per cent of the published United
Economy Class airfares.
Nicolas Ferri, General Sales Manager for United Airlines in Hong Kong,
said: “Our ‘Everyday Low Fares’ are simply a response to the requests
for flexibility and additional options that our customers tell us they
want. Our commitment to working with travel agents remains as strong as
ever”.
"Customers want the convenience of booking online at market rates and,
as the airline that leads the way in technological innovation, they are
looking to United to provide such a service.
"No other airline in Hong Kong offers on-line market fares to such a
large number of destinations in its network. We are proud to make this
another United first."
Through United's E-Ticket system, passengers select their choice of
itinerary and price, key in their personal and credit card details and
then pick up their boarding passes at the airport check-in, eliminating
the need for a paper ticket.
"Everyday Low Fares" customers can earn up to 4,000 bonus miles in
addition to their usual frequent flyer allocation. All United's US
destinations are covered by the service.
The airline's Hong Kong website also offers a paging service giving
flight information via Internet-enabled cellular phones or personal
computers; the ability to book reservations with over 30,000 hotels and
45 car rental companies; and an itinerary planning service covering all
United Airlines, United Shuttle or United Express flights.
United Airlines, a member of Star Alliance, is the largest air carrier
in the world, operating more than 2,400 flights to 130 destinations in
26 countries and two U.S. territories. From Hong Kong, United offers
daily nonstop service to Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Singapore
and Tokyo. Service to Delhi, India will begin on April 1, 2001.
