KLM CARGO SELECT 100 SERVICE AVAILABLE FOR SHIPMENTS ABOVE 100 KG

Travel News Asia Date: 7 December 2000

KLM Cargo has extended the availability of its Select 100 urgent cargo product to shipments of more than 100 kg effective November 1, 2000. The carrier has lifted the 100 kg weight restriction worldwide on the Select 100 time-definite product in response to market demand. Select 100 shipments are given performance – flown on first available flight out - and full money-back guarantees. Shipments of less than 100 kg will continue to be guaranteed capacity on first flight out and full money-back as before.

Other prime Select 100 features include latest delivery time, earliest recovery time and access to quick-transit handling at KLM Cargo’s Amsterdam Airport Schiphol hub.

“An increasing number of customers are requesting Select 100 service for shipments of more than 100 kg”, says KLM Cargo Vice President Air Cargo Frank de Reij. “Select 100 provides the market with speed and guaranteed access to scarce capacity out of bottlenecked markets such as the Far East. We are seeing an increasing number of customers signing Select 100 contract”.

KLM Cargo offers Select 100 service to and from all KLM Cargo destinations, included in KLM Cargo’s rates publication.

Select 100 is one of the three airport-to-airport time-defined products offered by KLM Cargo for the forwarding community. In addition to the premium Select 100 product, KLM Cargo’s Select 300 service offers standard arrival at destination with standard acceptance and delivery times. Select 700 provides a more economic option for shipments not requiring immediate delivery. Select is available for both loose and palletized cargo.
