Delta To Begin Codeshare With Air France To Cairo

Travel News Asia Date: 7 December 2000

Delta Air Lines will begin codeshare service from the United States via Paris to Cairo, Egypt with SkyTeam partner Air France. The Paris to Cairo service begins Dec. 15, 2000.

Delta and Air France continue to expand their SkyTeam relationship using Charles de Gaulle International Airport, the only sizeable European hub airport that can expand meaningfully in the coming years.

The carrier said that as the economy in North Africa continues to expand, global businesses are extending their reach to meet opportunities. As businesses expand, Delta must expand its service to provide customers access to global destinations.

Delta's goal is to become the #1 airline in the eyes of its customers, flying passengers and cargo from anywhere to everywhere. Passengers already choose to fly Delta more often than any other airline in the world on 5,263 flights each day to 351 cities in 54 countries on Delta, Delta Express, Delta Shuttle, the Delta Connection carriers, and Delta's Worldwide Partners. Delta is a founding member of SkyTeam, a global airline alliance which provides customers with extensive worldwide destinations, flights and services.
