Air Canada
inaugurated daily non-stop service between Toronto and Amsterdam when
flight AC838 (CP3838) left Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International
Airport yesterday at 2020 en route to the Netherlands. The new service
is also offered on a codeshare basis by Canadian Airlines.
``Our new service is indicative of the ongoing commitment on the part of
Air Canada and Canadian Airlines to offer our customers and freight
forwarders more non-stop services to more international destinations,''
said Stephen Markey, Air Canada Vice President, Government Relations and
Regulatory Affairs. ``With the introduction of non-stop
Toronto-Amsterdam service, we now serve 11 major European cities and
provide a fast and convenient link between Canada and the Netherlands,
which is the fourth largest travel market in Europe.''
Flights on the new route are operated with Air Canada wide body Boeing
767-200 aircraft featuring the airline's acclaimed Executive First and
Hospitality service.
Air Canada flight AC838 (CP3838) leaves Toronto at 2020 and arrives in
Amsterdam at 1000 the next day. From Amsterdam, AC839 (CP3839) leaves at
1350 and arrives in Toronto at 1610 the same day. Air Canada's schedule
has been designed to ensure maximum convenience and a great choice of
connecting flights between Toronto and key Canadian and U.S.
destinations.
To promote the new service, Air Canada is offering double bonus miles
when travelling round trip for the first time on the new route
betweenJuly 3 and August 31, 2000. |
