Continental
Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A) today announced daily nonstop service
between New York/Newark and Melbourne, Fla., beginning Feb. 15, 2001.
This will be the airline's tenth city in Florida with nonstop service
from Newark. Continental serves more Florida cities from the New York
area than any other airline, and travelers from Florida can connect to a
multitude of destinations in the Northwest and Europe through
Continental's New York Hub.
"We are pleased to be returning to Melbourne," said a Continental
spokesperson. "The demand for Florida flights continues to grow, and
this is a great time to re-acquaint the people of Melbourne with our
superior service."
Continental's southbound flight will depart from Newark International
Airport at 8:50 a.m. and arrive in Melbourne at 11:32 a.m. The
northbound flight will depart Melbourne at 12:20 p.m. and arrive in
Newark at 3:02 p.m.
The airline will operate a Boeing 737-500 aircraft equipped with 10
first class and 94 economy class seats.
