Air Canada and
Canadian Airlines announced today that Air Canada will take over
Canadian Airline's sponsorship as official airline of the Calgary
Flames, effective July 14, 2000. Canadian Airlines has been the official
airline of the team since 1995. Air Canada and the Calgary Flames have
signed a five-year agreement.
``We are delighted to announce our new partnership with the Calgary
Flames today,'' said Danielle Poudrette, Air Canada Vice President,
Marketing.
``Today's announcement reflects our strong commitment to the team and
the Calgary community.''
``We are very excited about our new agreement with Air Canada,'' said
Garry McKenzie, Vice President, Marketing and Sales of the Calgary
Flames.
``Air Canada's support greatly contributes to our initiatives to keep
the Flames in Calgary and we are looking forward to a long-lasting
partnership with the airline.''
The new sponsorship of the Calgary Flames is in line with the airline's
commitment to other professional hockey teams in Canada as well as a
number of major sports events and organisations throughout the country. |
