Airlines, Inc. has begun postal code-share service with All Nippon
Airways (ANA) to transport mail for the U.S. Postal Service.
TWA and ANA will cooperate on eight ANA-operated routes: Chicago-Tokyo,
Guam-Osaka, Honolulu-Nagoya, Honolulu-Osaka, Honolulu-Tokyo, Los
Angeles-Tokyo, New York-Tokyo, and San Francisco-Tokyo. The major
Japanese airline obtained an approval of the agreement from the Japanese
Ministry of Transport last week.
“ANA, Japan’s largest carrier, is known for excellence in cargo handling
and transportation,” said Joseph Vilmain, vice-president of cargo at
TWA. He added, “TWA is proud to have ANA join our family of postal
codeshare partners: Air New Zealand, Kuwait Airways, and Singapore
Airlines.”
All Nippon Airways, Japan's largest and the world's eighth largest
airline, carried more than 43 million passengers last year. ANA serves
35 cities in Japan and 27 cities overseas, including New York, Chicago,
Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu and Washington, D.C.
TWA flies approximately two million passengers per month on more than
825 daily flights to 100 destinations (including seasonal service) in
North America, the caribbean, Europe and the Middle East. |
