Air Canada negotiations with pilots ongoing

Travel News Asia Date: 29 June 2000

Negotiations between Air Canada and the Air Canada Pilots Association (ACPA) resumed today and ongoing talks are scheduled to continue tomorrow.

In view of these ongoing negotiations, ACPA has not given the Company notice of intent to strike. According to Canadian labour law, a union must give 72 hours notice prior to taking any strike action.

``We are determined to resolve this impasse without disruption to our customers,'' said Calin Rovinescu, Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development & Strategy who is leading the talks for the airline.

Air Canada will not be commenting further on the discussions underway.
