Air Canada has
announced its commitment to support the Toronto bid for the 2008 Olympic
and Paralympic Games.
As official airline of the Toronto 2008 Olympic Bid (TO-2008), Air
Canada will play a key role in attracting the 2008 Olympic and
Paralympic Games to Toronto.
"Our sponsorship of the Toronto bid underlines Air Canada's continuing
support of the Canadian Olympic Association," said Doug Port, Senior
Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Government Relations. "We are
looking forward to Toronto's success as the host city of the 2008
Olympic and Paralympic Games," he added.
TO-2008 President and CEO John Bitove said: "We are excited to have Air
Canada come on board as a major supporter of our bid. Air Canada has a
long history of supporting Olympic athletes and athletes are the driving
force behind our bid. We look forward to working together to bring the
world to Toronto in 2008."
Air Canada has been the official airline of the Canadian Olympic
Association since 1996. |
