Singapore
Airlines (SIA) today announced that it will invest over S$100 million to
bring the business operations of the SIA Group onto one common
e-business platform with mySAP.com, developed by SAP AG, a leading
provider of inter-enterprise solutions.
The consolidation of numerous disparate systems in the Group into one
integrated e-business platform will enable greater cost efficiencies,
increase productivity, and improve decision-making. In the area of
engineering maintenance, for example, essential data required to support
routine checks or fault diagnosis is currently obtained from several
different systems. This is time-consuming, because the engineering staff
are required to log on and off several times to various systems to
retrieve the necessary information. With mySAP.com, they can obtain the
information quickly from a single source, through the efficient
integration of engineering data. In addition, SIA employees will be able
to access mySAP.com e-services via a Web-based portal.
SIA will replace its Legacy systems, including those in the areas of
finance, logistics, human resource and supply chain management, with
mySAP.com solutions. SIA will also utilise SAP’s industry-specific
solutions for Aerospace and Defense to meet the diverse needs of the
Company.
mySAP.com will enable SIA to standardise business processes across the
parent Company and SIA subsidiaries, including Singapore Airport
Terminal Services, the SIA Engineering Company, SIA Properties and
SilkAir, enabling streamlined and cost-efficient processes and reduced
costs.
As a market leader of inter-enterprise software solutions, SAP is
leveraging its strength in industry-focused business software and the
world’s largest enterprise software customer base to deliver mySAP.com,
which provides an open collaborative business environment of
personalised solutions on demand. This enables companies of all sizes
and industries to fully engage their employees, customers and partners
to capitalize upon the new Internet economy. mySAP.com allows people to
harness the power of the Internet to work smarter, better and faster by
optimizing supply chains, managing strategic relationships, reducing
time to market, sharing virtual information, and increasing productivity
and shareholder value. |
