International
luxury hotel group Summit Hotels & Resorts has added a second Korean
destination to its portfolio with a new property, Lotte Hotel Cheju.
This is Summits first hotel on the up-and-coming resort destination of
Cheju island in southern Korea. Summit already has a city hotel in
Korea: Hotel Lotte in the centre of the capital city, Seoul. The new
addition brings Summits portfolio to over 155 independent premier-class
hotels in more than 125 destinations worldwide. Summit Hotels & Resorts
is owned by Pegasus Solutions (Nasdaq: PEGS).
Cheju, Koreas biggest island, is a popular tourist and honeymoon
destination, and Hotel Lotte Cheju also offers specialised conference
and incentive opportunities. Direct air routes to Cheju include seven
weekly flights from Seouls Kimpo International Airport with Korean and
Aseana Airlines and 11 flights weekly from Tokyo with Japan and Korean
Airlines. Additional direct Japan-Cheju routes are operated from Osaka
four times weekly and from Nagoya three time per week by Korean
Airlines. Aseana Airlines also flies direct to Cheju five times weekly
from Fukuoka.
Lotte Hotel Cheju has an established reputation as one of Koreas top
resort hotels. It offers guests the opulence and splendour of a European
palace matched by traditional Korean hospitality and service. Its 500
spacious guest rooms each have a balcony with magnificent sea views. 125
of the rooms are specially designed for families on vacation.
As well as its own casino, the hotels facilities include the grand
outdoor pool, staging water dance spectaculars set to music. It also has
an indoor pool, fitness club, tennis court and sauna, a range of leisure
and sports programs and a family recreation centre. Three restaurants
specialise respectively in Western, Japanese and traditional Korean
cuisine. Outdoor activities on the island include horse riding, mountain
climbing, golfing and relaxing at the beach.
Lotte Hotel Chejus conference facilities can accommodate groups from 80
up to 1,000 people for meeting or conferences. Its state-of-the art
meeting equipment includes an infrared eight-language simultaneous
translation system. |
