SINGAPORE AIRLINES TO ADD BOEING 777-200 AND -200ERS TO ITS FLEET

The Boeing Company today confirmed Singapore Airlines' intent to exercise options for two 777-200ERs (Extended Range) and one 777-200.

This intent to order will not be included in the Boeing published cumulative order total until the definitive agreement is signed.

The 777-200ER is an extended range model of the 777 family that can fly nearly 7,800 nautical miles (14,439 kilometers or 8,861 statute miles) non-stop from Singapore to European destinations. The 777's unmatched economics and range provide unlimited possibilities to its operators. With its faster speed, the 777 family of airplanes has shorter trip times than its competitor.

"This announcement continues to validate that the 777 is a trendsetter in establishing a new level of comfort and spaciousness for air travel."

Passengers prefer the Boeing 777 as the most comfortable airplane compared to other airplanes in its class. Studies have shown that the 777 is also preferred by operators, flight crews, cabin attendants and ramp attendants.

Building on the outstanding features and capabilities that make the 777 the market leader in the intermediate, twin-aisle category of airplanes, Boeing launched the longer-range 777-200 and -300 twinjets earlier this year. The new 777 models feature low fuel burn, noise, and emissions.

With 473 jetliners ordered by 31 customers, the Boeing 777 has captured 66 percent of the total market share.
