United
Airlines (NYSE: UAL) today announced that it has appointed Mark Schwab
to serve as vice president of its Pacific - North region, reporting to
Stuart Oran, senior vice president - International.
In his new role, Schwab is responsible for the airline's airport
operations, passenger and cargo sales and reservations, as well as
community and government relations in Japan and Korea.
Schwab began his industry career in 1975 with Pan American World Airways
holding numerous executive positions. In 1990 he became regional
managing director - Latin America for American Airlines in Miami. In
1992 he joined United as the carrier's general manager in Mexico City
and later served as general manager - United Kingdom.
Schwab left United to serve as US Airways' vice president -
International where he was responsible for the company's expanding
trans-Atlantic market, as well as international point of sale revenue.

senior vice president - International. "Mark has spent his entire career
in the international arena. He has held top regional and country
positions and has been responsible for sales, marketing, day-to-day
operations, government and public affairs and overall profitability in
several parts of the world. His broad experience will serve United well
as he undertakes the challenge of helping to manage United's growth in
the North Pacific."
Schwab, his wife and their two daughters resided in London, England. A
native of Minneapolis, he has worked and lived abroad for more than 30
years and is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
United offers more than 2,400 scheduled flights a day to 135 airports in
26 countries and two U.S. territories. |
