This weekend
saw British Airways London Eye, the world’s biggest observation wheel,
welcome its three millionth customer for a flight.

· Since the start of full operations on 1 March 2000, the London Eye has
turned 7,181 times
· Each capsule has travelled over 1,940 miles since the first turn in
March
· If the Eye was rolling, it could have travelled to Egypt

Sweeping one of the world’s most famous skylines at 135m high, British
Airways London Eye is London’s fourth tallest structure and the world’s
tallest observation wheel.
Its gradual 30 minute, 360 degree rotation gives passengers the kind of
birds-eye vantage usually reserved for airline passengers. Spectacular
panoramic views can be enjoyed from 32 fully enclosed, high tech
capsules, each accommodating up to 25 people. Visitors can see for over
25 miles in each direction.
