Virgin Blue
will begin its direct flights between Adelaide and Brisbane on December
7, even sooner than recently announced.
It follows the fast-tracking of temporary Adelaide airport facilities
and the early availability of Virgin Blue’s newest aircraft.
The airline is offering a one-off special fare of $99 one way on every
seat for travel between December 7 and December 15.
The introductory 9 Days $99 fare is part of Virgin Blue’s strategy of
letting the public experience Virgin’s incredible service at incredible
prices.
Virgin Blue Chief Executive Brett Godfrey said, “We think that special
offers like these should not be for the lucky few, that’s why we’ve
offered all available seats between Adelaide and Brisbane for our first
nine days at the unheard of price of $99.”
Bookings can be made from now until the first flight takes off on
December 7, subject to the normal CASA approval process.
Virgin Blue will also increase frequency on its Brisbane-Melbourne route
on December 8, introducing a 7.00am Melbourne departure to Brisbane
allowing business people a full working day in Queensland.
The early introduction of the Adelaide service and the frequency
increase on the Brisbane-Melbourne route confirms Virgin Blue’s desire
to cater for both the leisure and business markets, following strong
demand from both segments. |
