Pegasus
Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: PEGS) today announced Robert S. Bennett has
joined the company as senior vice president of hotel transaction
services and will be based in Pegasus’ headquarters in Dallas. Bringing
with him more than 25 years of experience in the technology arena within
the domestic and international hospitality communities, Bennett is
charged with developing, directing and launching Pegasus’ Web-based
property technology ASP initiatives. Pegasus Solutions is a leading
worldwide provider of hotel industry reservations transaction processing
and electronic commerce services and will now be expanding these
transaction services to include a full suite of hotel property
management applications.
Bennett’s significant contribution to the field of hospitality
technology is being recognized by the hotel industry on June 21 at the
Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC) 2000
in Dallas. Bennett will be honored as the newest inductee into the
Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) International
Hospitality Hall of Fame, the hospitality industry’s highest level of
recognition in the area of technology.
“For years, I have consulted with hoteliers on selecting the right
technological fit and helped technology providers, including Pegasus,
with shaping their offerings. Joining Pegasus is a prime opportunity for
me to take my skill sets and knowledge and apply them to the fullest at
a world-renowned organization,” Bennett said. “The hotel industry is
ripe for Web-based property-level technology and software, and Pegasus
has the technology backbone, market penetration and industry knowledge
to bring the hotel industry to this next level. Needless to say, I am
very pleased to be a part of the team that will contribute to Pegasus’
expansion and ultimately impact the industry’s technological
environment.”
Most recently, Bennett worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Falls Church,
Va., where he directed the company’s hospitality and leisure management
consulting services. His group was responsible for advising hospitality
owners, managers and technology vendors on strategic planning,
technology trends, IT organizational management, application product
selection and program office procedures.
“I’ve had the privilege of working with Bob for more than a decade. Bob
was involved in the original conceptual design of The Hotel Industry
Switch Company (THISCO), which served as the foundation of Pegasus,”
said Bill Nicholson, executive vice president of Pegasus Solutions and
chief operating officer of the Pegasus Technology Group. “Bob is held in
high esteem by the industry, and it is a coup for Pegasus and our
customers to have him as a full-time member of our team.”
Bennett’s career also includes serving in senior management positions in
the area of technology with MICROS-Fidelio Inc.; Marriott International,
Inc.; and Hilton International Co.
Bennett is a founding member and currently vice-chairman of the American
Hotel and Motel Association Technology Committee. He also is a frequent

is presented by the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals
(HFTP) organization. He has contributed to several industry
publications’ editorial focused on the use of technology and served on
editorial advisory boards for trade journals.
Bennett received a bachelor of science degree in hotel administration
from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He also completed the
