Skal
International Yogyakarta will be Indonesia's fourth chapter for the
professional, international tourism industry association. Other chapters
are in Bali, Jakarta and Surabaya.
Skal International's Executive Secretary Jim Power, at the world
headquarters in Spain, this week advised Skal International Indonesia
President Debe Campbell that statutes are approved for the Yogyakarta
chapter and final approval will be officiated by the executive committee
during the organization's December World Congress in Malta. Power
extended his congratulations for the chapter's formation.
Organizing the Yogyakarta chapter was Skal International Bali chapter
member Frans Staats, general manager at Melia Purosani Yogyakarta Hotel.
He serves as the interim president for the new chapter with supporting
executive committee members Vincent Lalay, general manager of Novotel
Yogyakarta, and Donny Tisnantoro, general manager of Santika Yogyakarta.
The chapter has 23 confirmed members, including leaders of travel and
tour agencies, airlines, hotels and other tourism organisations.
Skal International, the world's largest international professional
tourism industry organization, aims to foster goodwill and understanding
among more than 25,000 members in more than 530 chapters worldwide. Skal
International Indonesia has over 150 members. |
