Continental to
offer year-round service
Continental Express, the regional airline subsidiary of Continental
Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A), has announced new ExpressJet service
between Montrose/Telluride, Colo., and its hub in Houston, effective
April 9, 2001.
This new service will mark the first time the Montrose/Telluride
community has had scheduled jet year-round service to a destination
outside of Colorado. Continental Airlines already serves
Montrose/Telluride during the winter ski season.
Using the new 37-passenger Embraer ERJ-135 regional jet, also known as
the ExpressJet, Continental Express will offer one daily flight between
the popular tourist destination and Houston.
The flight from Houston will depart at 9:20 a.m. and will arrive in
Montrose/Telluride at 11:11 a.m. The return flight from
Montrose/Telluride will depart at 11:38 a.m. and will arrive in Houston
at 2:58 p.m.
Continental offers Boeing 737-500 service between Montrose/Telluride and
Houston during the peak ski season running mid-December through April 8.
The new Continental Express service will operate service during the
remaining months. Between the ExpressJet service and Continental's
ski-season service, flights now will run seamlessly year-round.
Continental Express serves more than 8.5 million customers annually. As
a regional air carrier to Continental Airlines, Express offers daily
departures to more than 105 cities from its hubs in Cleveland, Houston
and New York. Continental Express offers advance seat assignments and
OnePass frequent flyer miles, which can be redeemed anywhere in the
world Continental and its partner airlines fly. |
