The saying
goes, “The face that launched a thousand ships” but in this case
launched more than a thousand smiles when suave Hong Kong superstar Andy
Lau arrived in style at Century Harbour Hotel on Monday, 16 October 2000
for his portrait sitting at the venue’s Presidential Suite. As the joint
official hotel sponsor with Century Hong Kong Hotel for Madame Tussaud’s
in Hong Kong, Century Harbour Hotel hosted Madame Tussaud’s portrait
sitting of Andy Lau in the comfort and hospitality of the hotel’s plush
suite. It was the perfect opportunity to catch a glimpse of Andy Lau in
the flesh at the Century Harbour Hotel. To add more ceremony to the
occasion, Century Hong Kong’s General Manager & Vice President, Mr
Douglas Barber and Century Harbour Hotel’s General Manager, Mr Dennis
Oldfield presented a surprise birthday cake and delighted Andy Lau and a
group of excited fans at the preceding press conference.
“Madame Tussauds portrait sittings with celebrities around the world
generate a great deal of excitement, and we are delighted to have had
this opportunity to share the excitement with Century, our hotel sponsor
in Hong Kong, who have given us such tremendous and enthusiastic
support" said Peter Carson, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Hong
Kong.
Similar to other international celebrities who have appeared on centre
stage as one of Madame Tussaud’s many lifelike portraits at the Victoria
Peak venue in Hong Kong, Andy Lau will soon join the list of other world
famous faces when his portrait is displayed.
