Phuket Arcadia
Resort Hotel, after its extension of another 220 rooms, now becomes the
largest 5 star hotel of Phuket island, having 695 rooms for service.
500 million baht was spent to build this new wing and we plan to launch
the soft opening around mid December 2000. Maitree Narukatpichai,
Director/General Manager of Phuket Arcadia said.
After expanding another 220 rooms, Phuket Arcadia Resort Hotel will be
the largest hotel with the highest number of rooms which are 695 rooms.
The new wing as called Arcadia Grand, is built under the concept of true
resort. That is why only 3-4 floors, gently sloped, are designed for
this new project. Everything here will be of higher standard than the
old ones. Rooms are deluxe and suite category decorated in modern Thai
style, more private and comfortable in homely atmosphere and perfect for
F.I.T. markets.
Mr.Maitree also added, The fact that we invest today might seem a
little bit weird, but we have seen the growing trend of Phuket for quite
a few years. Last year, the average room occupancy was as high as
80-90%. Particularly, in high season, lots of European and Asian guests
keep coming, but we do not have enough rooms for all. So more rooms are
needed. With 695 rooms, we will then have more than enough room supply
to support MICE market. In the past, we have always regretted refusing
to confirm space for such big groups due of lack of rooms. On another
side, we also plan to penetrate into new market specifically European
region like Switzerland and U.K..
The upcoming international group and event are Phuket Andaman Travel
Show in December 2000 and Prudential Life Insurance Group from Singapore
in May 2001.
Phuket Arcadia Resort hotel is the first hotel in Southern Thailand
