Following the

the new appointments of three of its Singapore-based regional executives
in the Asia Pacific. Utell is a service of Pegasus Solutions, Inc.
(Nasdaq: PEGS), and with more than 6,400 hotel members, it ranks as the
worlds largest third-party provider of representation, reservations and
marketing services to the hotel industry.
Previously director of marketing, Christine Toguchi, is now Utells vice
president of marketing for the Asia Pacific. She will spearhead all
marketing initiatives within the region, that comprises 10 offices in
Australia, China (Beijing & Shanghai), Hong Kong, India (New Delhi &
Mumbai), Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan. She will explore
development opportunities and synergies with potential business partners
in an effort to help maximise market share and accelerate growth.
An experienced hospitality industry professional specialising in travel
trade, airline and hotel marketing, Christine was the director of
marketing in an international hotel chain prior to joining Utell.
Peter Yap has been appointed as the director of product implementation
for the Asia Pacific. Yap joined Utell in 1995 as manager for Singapore
and Malaysia. During his tenure, he was manager of Utells Bangkok
office before returning to Singapore to take on the position as regional
trainer for Unison, Utells state-of-the-art central reservation system.
With the operations and technical knowledge gleaned over the years, Yap
will take on the implementation role for Pegasus Solutions products,
including Pegasus Business Intelligence and the NetBooker suite of
Web-based distribution solutions within the Asia Pacific region. His key
responsibilities will be to lend support to the regional business units
by working with the customer support team for product implementation.
Amy Ang has been appointed to the position of director of business
analysis. A graduate in accountancy from the National University of
Singapore, Ang joined the company last year as manager of business
planning and analysis. Prior to joining Utell, she had acquired
extensive experience in the financial and hospitality industries in
Singapore, New Zealand and Cambodia.
Ang will provide business analysis through budgeting, forecasting, and
market and business performance evaluation to support management
decisions. She will also be working closely with various Utell offices
in the Asia Pacific to review strategies and conduct feasibility
studies.
Utells senior vice president of Asia Pacific Kelvin Seah said, With
Utell now part of Pegasus Solutions, we are gearing up to be the total
representation solution provider for reservations distribution with
emphasis on enhanced service delivery and a broader portfolio of
Web-based product offering. The strengthening of our regional
headquarters with key appointments in marketing, yield management and
business analysis is part of the overall strategy to establish a
stronger presence in this region and to better support our sales
offices. |
