The Regent
Sydney, Official IOC Hotel for the 2000 Olympic Games, has struck gold
again at the annual Business Traveller, Asia-Pacific 2000 Travel Awards.
The hotel, fresh from a $A65 million refurbishment (approximately US$40
million), has again won "Best Hotel in Sydney". For the second
consecutive year, The Regent Sydney received perfect ratings for
facilities, food, location, service and value in the city.
Commenting on the awards, General Manager, Mr Stephen Lewis said, "This
is a great honour for the hotel and for our staff who have worked
incredibly hard to consistently deliver the quality and standards that
our local and international guests expect, especially during the recent
Olympic Games."

The awards, now in their ninth year, reward hotels in Asia-Pacific for
consistent excellence in service, value, location, food and facilities.
Based on the findings of an annual poll, conducted among 10,250 Business
Traveller Asia Pacific Magazine readers, the survey received an 8%
response rate. More than 80% of respondents travel First and Business
class with hotel stays of approximately 33 room nights per year.
