Effective
November 21, 2000, Air Canada will commence daily non-stop service
between Vancouver and Shanghai. Flights on the new route will be
operated with wide body Boeing 767-300 aircraft.
``With the introduction of this new service, Air Canada will provide the
only daily non-stop service between Vancouver and Shanghai,'' said Air
Canada Vice President Marketing, Danielle Poudrette. ``We are looking
forward to building on our successful daily non-stop Vancouver-Beijing
service to offer our customers 14 non-stop flights per week between
Canada and China's commercial and financial centre as well as the
nation's capital.''
Air Canada flight AC005 will leave Vancouver at 1200 and will arrive in
Shanghai at 1620 the next day. From Shanghai, flight AC006 will depart
at 1815 and will arrive in Vancouver at 1255 the same day.
Flights have been timed to ensure the best possible choice of connecting
flights in Vancouver to/from most Canadian and key U.S. points. By
introducing the new route, Air Canada will further develop its Vancouver
hub offering up to 10 daily transpacific flights to nine Pacific
destinations, including twice daily service to Hong-Kong and up to three
flights per day to Japan.
To promote the new service, Air Canada is offering double Aeroplan miles
when travelling round trip for the first time on the new route between
November 21, 2000 and January 10, 2001. Tickets are available for sale
immediately. |
