British
Airways’ Groundbreaking New Cabin Takes Off in Hong Kong
British Airways’ groundbreaking new cabin, World Traveller Plus, started
its inaugural flight for Hong Kong-based passengers on October 29 with
great success. Prior to the inaugural flight, select passengers
travelling the Hong Kong - London route had the opportunity to
experience the new cabin by receiving an upgrade from the World
Traveller cabin. These passengers who were able to experience the
product commented on the extra leg room, quieter space, new ergonomic
seat with four lumbar back support - a “fantastic” break from the past.
Nick Moore, British Airways Service Delivery Manager Far East, said the
feedback from World Traveller Plus passengers reinforced the new
product’s offering. Said Mr. Moore, “We received tremendous response
from our customers on the cabin’s features and services. Some passengers
said the extra space and ‘unbelievable’ leg room across the cabin was
absolutely brilliant and a fantastic break from the past – a very
popular change.”
In addition to the World Traveller Plus experience, passengers
travelling on Club World and World Traveller have been more upbeat since
the new products were unveiled early this year. Added Mr. Moore, “Club
World’s rearward facing seats offered business passengers more room to
themselves as well as real comfort when passengers actually fell sound
asleep in the first fully flat bed. World Traveller passengers also
noticed a major change in the newly launched cabin enhancing their
overall flying experience.”
“Now business and leisure travellers have more choices to choose from
with our four dedicated cabins”, said Freddy Li, Country Manager Hong
Kong, British Airways. Mr Li continued, “Not only that, but we are the
only airline offering four different cabin services on the Hong
Kong-London route. It is this dedication to our Hong Kong passengers
which makes British Airways the preferred airline of choice.”
To peak passengers’ interest, a special introductory World Traveller
Plus fare is available at HK$10,500 from October 29 to November 30. (All
tickets must be issued on or before November 15.) Passengers flying in
this new cabin can earn an additional 10% Asia Miles bonus on top of
actual miles flown.
World Traveller Plus, a new dedicated cabin set in between business and
economy, creates a spacious, quieter cabin with more generous seat width
and pitch for the cost-conscious traveller. A specially designed seat,
made by Germany’s Recaro, features 12 channel seat-back videos, in-seat
power for laptops and individual telephones.
