Relations of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited announced
cancellation of flight operations to Udon Thani due to heavy rain and
floods at airport.
After several days of heavy rain, the runway and taxiway of Udon Thani
airport, located at the northeastern part of Thailand, were flooded. The
electrical system controlling the runway and taxiway lights was
temporary disconnected for safety reasons. As a result, Thai Airways
International announced the cancellation of scheduled flight operations
between Bangkok and Udon Thani as follows:
12 July 2000 – TG018 and TG019
13 July 2000 – TG008 and TG009
13 July 2000 – TG010 and TG011
13 July 2000 – TG018 and TG019
Udon Thani airport will be closed from 0700 hours on 13th July to 0700
hours on 14th July. THAI will then resume normal flight operations.
Currently, THAI operates three weekly flights on the route Bangkok-Udon
Thani, using the Airbus A300-600 aircraft. |
