Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, led by Mr. Thamnoon
Wanglee, THAI’s President, and the Thai Olympic Committee, led by
General Chetta Thanajaro, Chairman, signed an agreement of sponsorship
to bring Thai athletes to the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, which is
scheduled to take place during 15 September - 1 October 2000.
Mr. Thamnoon Wanglee, THAI’s President, said, “THAI is proud to be the
official airline for the Thai Olympic Committee, bringing over 130 Thai
athletes, officials, and media from Thailand to the Sydney 2000 Olympic
Games. THAI has always placed strong emphasis on promoting all types of
sports, which help boost relationships between people and countries.
Sporting events also provide an excellent opportunity for Thai athletes
to develop their skills to international standards, and further
strengthen the relationship between nations.”
Thai Airways International has been appointed the official airline for
both Thai and Swedish Olympic Committees, bring athletes from Thailand
and Sweden to participate in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. In 1998 THAI
was the official carrier for the 13th Asian Games and SEA Games in 1999.
THAI currently operates 12 flights per week on the route Bangkok –
Sydney v.v., using the Boeing 777-300 and 747-400 aircraft. |
