Two
Mutiara Hotels & Resorts were recently recognised at the Tourism Malaysia Awards 2003 - 2004 with Mutiara Kuala Lumpur and Mutiara Taman Negara both winning
awards for excellence in hotel services. Mutiara Kuala Lumpur was recognised as Malaysia's Best Five-Star City Hotel and Mutiara Taman
Negara Resort won the same award for Malaysia's Best Three-Star Hotel.
The prestigious Malaysia Tourism Awards were first introduced in 1987 by
the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Tourism through Tourism Malaysia as a tribute to individuals and organisations who have contributed to the
development of excellence in Malaysia's tourism industry.
The recipients from each category are chosen for their excellence in service
and tireless efforts in promoting Malaysia's tourism industry within their
respective fields.
The "Excellence in Hotel Services Award" recognises hotels which offer
quality and excellent services to their guests. The judging criteria for this
award includes all facets of hotel operations such as overall efficiency,
courtesy, ambience, value-for-money, reservations, reception and guest relations, telephone operations, bell services, laundry, house-keeping,
security, food and beverages, interior decoration, uniforms, cleanliness and
maintenance.
Mr. Zain Puteh, Managing Director of Pernas Hotel Chain, the operators of
all six Mutiara Hotels and Resorts in Malaysia said: "We celebrate this significant event as we have worked very hard to win these awards and
it is truly a great credit to the Mutiara team who contributed so much to
winning these two awards."
Mr. Puteh continued: "The Mutiara brand brings to the travelling public a
collection of truly Malaysian owned and operated hotels and resorts with
touches that clearly identify each property. All properties feature international design and standards combined with generous Malaysian
hospitality."
He added: "We are excited about the Mutiara Kuala Lumpur, our new
flagship property, winning this award. Prior to our recent RM100 million
renovation we set about to establish what we hoped to be the finest hotel in
the country."
"For some time now, Mutiara Hotels and Resorts have been building upon
their successes, raising standards and generally fine-tuning their operations. This is an ongoing process and with our flagship property, the
Mutiara Kuala Lumpur we set about to re-define hospitality standards in the
city. Winning the award means that we have successfully done this and, within just twelve months of re-opening the property," concluded Mr.
Puteh. |
