Seven of the world’s most influential leaders will be in Dubai later this year for a
two-day ‘Leaders in Dubai’ event billed by organisers as a world first.
On the platform will be: Jack Welch, former Chairman and CEO of General
Electric; Rudolph Giuliani, the charismatic former Mayor of New York; Michael
Porter, a Professor of Harvard Business School; Lester Thurow, Professor of
Management and Economics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Tom Peters, the Ur-guru of management; Alvin Toffler,
one of the world’s most influential futurologists and Frank Maguire, a
best-selling author and communications expert who steered programmes for FedEx, American Airlines and Kentucky
Fried Chicken.
“The speakers lined up for Leaders in Dubai come from a number of different
backgrounds but have one thing in common – they are all highly regarded for
their leadership skills,” said Sheena Dunne, Project Director, Leading Minds,
which is organising the ground-breaking event. “Leaders in Dubai will be the
business event of 2004. Never before has Middle Eastern business had such a
fantastic opportunity to discuss significant issues with such an incredible group
of individuals.
“This is a first-of-its-kind initiative which will undoubtedly capture the
imagination of senior executives throughout the Middle East and beyond. Besides having the most exclusive international offering in key note speakers,
‘Leaders in Dubai’ is a unique networking and brand positioning opportunity.”
Organiser Leading Minds is a company specialising in presenting the latest
thoughts and groundbreaking ideas from pre-eminent international business
authorities. ‘Leaders in Dubai’ is set to become an annual event. The inaugural
edition will be held at the Dubai International Convention Centre from November
29-30, 2004.
“Dubai as an international business hub, a rapidly developing global convention
centre and an acknowledged emerging leader across a variety of industries, was
an ideal choice to stage this compelling event,” said Dunne.
“Each of the speakers will deliver to the audience of Middle Eastern business
directors a discussion on a particular aspect of leadership. Delegates will have
the opportunity to direct questions to each of the speakers. The conference is
aimed at CEOs of companies, heads of finance, business development and marketing directors, human resource chiefs, consultants and communications
experts.
“We are confident of achieving a delegate turnout in the region of 1,200 – 1,500 of
some of the highest calibre executives. We believe that if the standard of platform
speakers is maintained, the event will become viable annually.”
Apart from the main event programme, the inaugural ‘Leaders In Dubai’ will also
feature an optional workshop conducted by Tom Peters.
“It will be two days packed with powerful motivation, of experience and
insights,” said Dunne. “And ‘Leaders in Dubai’ offers all seven of these highly
influential leaders at a price extremely competitive with other less powerful and
individual programmes.”
Delegate prices for the congress are US $2,295 per person with an early
registration offer of a US $500 saving if booking is made before March 31. The
delegate price for both the congress and the Tom Peters’ workshop is US $2,990
with an early registration discount of US $650 if booked before March 31.
