Travel News Asia 8 January 2004

Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort recently opened an Ayurvedic Centre, the latest offering at the hotel where guests can indulge themselves in exotic massages from the Southern Indian State of Kerela as well as try out a number of various Ayurvedic health programs and treatments, designed to soothe the mind, body and soul.

Softouch Ayurveda, the company behind the Ayurvedic Centre at Le Meridien Al Aqah, has been in the health care service for the last fourteen years and the new centre highlights their experience and authenticity. The Softouch doctor at the centre is on hand to determine an 'Ayurvedic' cure for any ailment and the most suitable herbal oils for a guest's skin and body type.

At the launch of the centre, Dr. Kiran K.R., Softouch Ayurvedic Consultant in Fujairah, highlighted the benefits of Ayurveda which is recommended for a variety of ailments including arthritis, asthma, respiratory disorders, headaches, diabetes and various allergies to name a few.

"We are extremely pleased to partner with the Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort for our centre. This particular hotel enjoys the luxury of being a true getaway in every sense. This makes our job even easier as people who wish to come in for treatments are extremely relaxed and have the time to come in for subsequent treatments which have shown some very positive results," he added.

Patrick Antaki, General Manager, Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort welcomed Softouch to the hotel and said, "With over fourteen years of experience behind them, the Softouch Ayurvedic Centre is synonymous with utmost care and attention to detail and we are delighted to welcome them to the Le Meridien Al Aqah. After indulging in the wonders of Ayurveda we are certain that our guests will go back home feeling revitalised and rejuvenated, thus completing the Al Aqah experience."

Guests at the Al Aqah can try out a variety of treatments ranging from the Ayurveda Refreshment Program, a combination of traditional massages along with time tested herbal teas for the total refreshment of body and mind to Rejuvenation Therapy which includes detoxification and rejuvenation of body by herbal oils and medicines. This therapy claims to slow down the aging process and is recommended for anyone between 16 and 70.

The centre has three treatment rooms, with four qualified Ayurvedic practitioners who can be consulted for ailments such as sleep disorders, backache and stress. A one hour treatment starts as low as AED 150.
