Laguna Phuket, host venue for filming excursion of Miss Siamese 2004 and Miss Tourism World Thailand 2004

Travel News Asia 7 June 2004

Laguna Phuket recently hosted the four-day filming excursion of Miss Siamese 2004 and Miss Tourism World Thailand 2004, from 5 to 8 June.

The arrival of the 40 contestants, accompanied by Miss Tourism World 2003, English beauty Ms Alina Ciorogariu, added much glamour and excitement to the resort destination and the island itself.

Besides visiting some of the most popular sight-seeing places on the island, such as the Heroines Monument, Phuket Fantasea and gems factory, the ladies were also wined and dined with a welcome gala dinner hosted by Laguna Phuket and attended by the Vice Governor of Phuket Khun Vinai Buapradit, local dignitaries as well as Laguna Phuket’s Joint Managing Director Mr James Batt and his management team. Mr Batt will also be on the judging committee for the finalé on 12 June.

A highlight of this excursion was the half-day team building exercise at Quest Laguna Phuket Adventure, where the contestants underwent activities such as ‘trolleys’, ‘zig zag’ and ‘spider’s web’ to build up their camaraderie and confidence.

From shopping and spa to sports and golf, each of the contestants experienced a resort extravaganza of activities and relaxation, while filming their footages to be televised during the finalé.

The finalé is slated to take place in Bangkok on 12 June, ‘live’ from 10.00pm to 12.00 midnight on Channel 5 and Thai Global Network.
