Shangri-La appoints Vice President Sales & Marketing – Japan

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has appointed Takeshi Monguchi as vice president sales and marketing for Japan.

Reporting to Austin Frost, vice president of international sales, Mr Monguchi will be based in the Tokyo regional sales office from 17 May 2004 and oversee the sales and marketing activities of the group in Japan. 

Mr Monguchi has more than 30 years experience in the travel industry and was most recently based in Hong Kong where for 12 years he was president of Japan Travel Agency Limited with responsibility for its ten offices in Asia and Australia. Prior to this role, he worked in senior sales positions at five-star hotels in Japan, Singapore, Korea, the Philippines and the United States.
