Elaine Watson appointed General Manager of The Green Community Courtyard and Marriott Executive Apartments Dubai

Mr. Anton Najjar, Area Vice President - Middle East & Africa, Marriott International, has announced the promotion of Elaine Watson to the position of General Manager of the Green Community Courtyard and Marriott Executive Apartments, effective February 1, 2004.

The 169-room Courtyard and 43-unit Marriott Executive Apartments are part of a multi-use residential/commercial development currently under construction on the outskirts of Dubai. The hotel is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2004.

Elaine is a Qualified Accountant who began her career in hotels 15 years ago as a Financial Controller in the UK. Elaine held posts as a Rooms Division Manager and Operations Manager with Whitbread Hotel Company -master franchisee for Marriott International in the UK - prior to joining Marriott International in July 2001 as the pre-opening General Manager for the Marriott Executive Apartments in Dubai. Elaine was the first female General Manager to join Marriott in the Middle East, and the Marriott Executive Apartments was the first of this brand in the Middle East.
