SAS Flight Academy AB has established a new training center at Oslo Airport in Gardermoen, Norway. The new training center
opened on August 15, 2004, with opening ceremonies scheduled for today. In the first phase, three full flight simulators will
be featured: a B737NG, a B737 Classic and a Dash8-100/300. The training center even includes cabin- training equipment for
these aircraft types. The building is modern and spacious, and houses classrooms, CBT terminals, briefing and debriefing
rooms etc. Customers include SAS Braathens, Widerøe, Britannia, Sterling, Estonian Air and Norwegian Air Shuttle.
"The opening of the SAS Flight Academy Oslo fits in well with our strategy of establishing training centers close to our
customers' home bases," says Olof Bärve, President of SAS Flight Academy.
SAS Flight
Academy already has two training centers, one in Stockholm, Sweden and the other in Copenhagen, Denmark.
These two centers offer training for pilots, cabin crews, maintenance technicians and ships' officers. SAS Flight Academy is
equipped with simulators for twelve different aircraft types, including short and long haul aircraft and helicopters.
