Systems that streamline reservation processes, increase networking
opportunities and enhance security are amongst the solutions anticipated in
EIBTM’s WorldWide Technology Watch, according to Reed Travel Exhibitions. The
showcase, which highlights technological innovations for the incentive, business
travel and meetings industry, seeks to identify those technologies that judges feel
will have the most impact on the sector in the future.
Corbin Ball, Chairman of the EIBTM Technology Committee said; “The rate at which technology is transforming the way business is done in this sector is showing no signs of slowing down. The WorldWide Technology Watch attracts a high level of groundbreaking solutions ranging from advances in remote
presentations, virtual conferences, and teleporting to breakthroughs in mobility
and web-based technology. We are looking for ideas from all over the world that
solve problems for, or provide a better way of delivering service in, the MICE
industry.
"Of particular interest will be the way in which the increased presence of wireless
technologies and advanced mobility solutions can be utilised within the sector. I
anticipate entries that demonstrate how this technology can allow attendees to
communicate with each other and with event organisers. There will also be
breakthroughs in terms of security and in using web-services to streamline
booking and management processes.”
The 2004 winning entry will benefit from additional promotion surrounding the
event and a free stand at the MPI Technology Village @ EIBTM. In addition, the
winner will also be invited to present at EIBTM.
Mark Sylvester, CEO, Creative Director of Intronetworks said: “When we heard
about the EIBTM Technology WorldWide Watch we immediately entered the competition with our application. As new technology suppliers to the conference
and meeting planner market we recognised that winning this competition would
be a tremendous boost to our marketing efforts as we grow our business internationally. This kind of recognition is invaluable to a growing company and I
would encourage other companies with a new technology application to enter
too.”
Closing date for entries is August 6th. |
