Holiday Inn hotels across Australia offer guests 'Fresh Start'

Travel News Asia 6 July 2004

From July, Holiday Inn hotels across Australia are aiming to set a new standard for hotel breakfasts with the launch of Fresh Start, a new breakfast concept that will offer guests a healthier alternative at the start of the day.

One key element of Fresh Start will be the introduction of self-serve juicers in every Holiday Inn hotel-the first time any hotel chain has introduced such a service as a brand standard in Australia. Holiday Inn has also partnered with Goodman Fielder to introduce ‘Baker’s Korner’, stocked daily with Helga’s breads, chunky home-style muffins and pastries as well as fresh bread baked at the hotel-a perfect complement to fresh espresso coffee and eggs cooked to order.

The Fresh Start initiative was developed as a result of research into the increasing popularity of fresh and natural breakfast options among consumers.

“After investigating breakfast offerings in three to five star hotels across Australia, and observing the popularity of fresh juice companies like Boost and Zest, we have been looking for ways to make breakfast at Holiday Inn a fresher, healthier experience. Fresh Start does just that, by offering guests more variety when it comes to the most important meal of the day,” said InterContinental Hotels Group Director of Sales and Marketing Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific, Jolyon Bulley.

“Since we started testing the concept earlier in the year, feedback from guests has been overwhelmingly positive. We will be adding new features to Fresh Start over the coming months, aimed at customers who are looking for a fresher, healthier alternative to the traditional hotel buffet breakfast,” Mr Bulley said.

Implementation of Fresh Start began in June and continues throughout July across all 17 Holiday Inn hotels in Australia.
