Continental Airlines announced today an increase in summer service between
Guam and Honolulu by adding an additional weekly flight. The extra frequency,
will operate from June to September 2004.
The new service will be added to Continental's regular daily flight schedule from
Guam to Honolulu and back, increasing the total flights per week from seven
to eight each way and representing a 14% increase in capacity. A next
generation Boeing 767-400 aircraft with 256 seats (20 BusinessFirst class and
236 economy class seats) will service all new segments. Also, the aircraft
features Continental's award-winning business class product, BusinessFirst. In
addition, the aircraft offers seat-back entertainment systems featuring a wide
choice of movies, music and interactive games for all economy class seats.
Each Monday from June 7, 2004, through September 6, 2004, Flight 74 will depart
Guam at 8:20 a.m. and arrive in Honolulu at 7:35 p.m. (the night before).
Beginning June 5, 2004, through September 4, 2004, Flight 73 will depart
Honolulu every Saturday at 4:40 p.m. and arrive on Guam at 8:20 p.m. the
following day.
The additional Guam-Honolulu flight will continue on to Houston offering
convenient connections to other U.S. mainland cities and will also offer
convenient connections to Continental's Honolulu-Los Angeles service.
Continental Micronesia President and Chief Executive Officer Mark A. Erwin said
the additional flights demonstrate Continental's strong commitment to the Guam
community and the Asia-Pacific region. "We've added the extra frequencies
between our Guam hub and Honolulu to meet the anticipated strong summer demand. The flight departure and arrival times at both destinations are perfect for
our leisure travelers who connect through Honolulu to the U.S. mainland, and
who stop on Guam on their way to Micronesia. And since both Guam-Honolulu
flights continue on to Houston, it gives our business and military travelers
greater options for connections in the U.S. mainland from Continental's main
hub."
The airline's summer schedule to the U.S. is complemented by its daily mainland
connection from Guam via Narita, Japan. "Another convenient option for travelers headed to the U.S. mainland is our daily service through Tokyo. Every
day, we offer 155 seats from Guam to Narita on a flight that continues to
Houston. Or, customers have the option to connect quickly and easily to a
non-stop flight from Narita to Newark," Erwin added. |
