Six of The Peninsula Hotels' luxury properties - The Peninsula Bangkok, The
Peninsula Manila, The Peninsula Hong Kong, The Peninsula Beverly Hills, The
Peninsula Chicago and The Peninsula Palace Beijing - have been awarded top
honours in the January 2004 issue of Condé Nast Traveler in its 2004 Gold List and Travel + Leisure’s ‘T+L 500 – The Greatest Hotels in the
World’.
More than 32,000 Conde Nast Traveler subscribers voted in this year’s
Readers’ Choice Poll for the 10th annual Gold List, published in the January
2004 issue of Condé Nast Traveler magazine. In the Asia/Australia/Pacific
Nations categories of the Gold List, with scores of 100 points each, The
Peninsula Bangkok and The Peninsula Manila were chosen as “The Best by
Service”, while The Peninsula Bangkok also received a 100 point score in
both “The Best by Rooms” and “The Best by Design” categories.
The Peninsula Hong Kong, The Peninsula Hotels' flagship property and
known worldwide for its timeless elegance, was voted number one for “The
Best by Food”.
With an overall score of 91.5, The Peninsula Manila is the only hotel rated in
the Philippines; while The Peninsula Hong Kong (95.4), The Peninsula Bangkok (96.6), The Peninsula Beverly Hills (94.6) and The Peninsula Chicago
(94.9) are the highest rated hotels in their respective destinations.
Following a US$27 million renovation programme, The Palace Hotel Beijing
was officially renamed The Peninsula Palace Beijing in September 2003. A
significant jump in its overall score from 74.6 to 85.0 has made The Peninsula
Palace Beijing the third highest rated hotel in China.
Meanwhile, in its annual ‘T+L 500 – The Greatest Hotels in the World’ awards,
Travel + Leisure’s readers honored The Peninsula Beverly Hills, The Peninsula
Chicago, The Peninsula Bangkok & The Peninsula Hong Kong as No. 1 in
their respective destinations, while The Peninsula Palace Beijing is the highest
rated hotel in the PRC.
