The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is
kicking-off its aggressive marketing and promotional agenda for the year 2004
with its participation, along with an increased number of co-participants, in
five European travel and tourism exhibitions in the month of January.
The DTCM Director Operations and Marketing, Mr. Mohammed Khamis bin
Hareb, said: “The trade fairs, taking place from January 8 until the month-end,
will expose Dubai in some of the major markets of Europe and also provide
networking possibilities to the Dubai participants.”
He added: “Participation in five major trade shows in the very first month of
the new year is a good start to our energized efforts to promote Dubai in a big
way.”
The department has added four new exhibitions and road shows to its 2004
agenda of overseas promotions.
The first exhibition on the agenda this month is Reiseliv 2004, Norway’s only

the Norwegian and international travel trade.
The other exhibition is Ferien 2004 (January 15-18). Held in Vienna, it is
Austria’s largest public holiday fair.
The next on the list is Matka 2004, the Finnish International Travel Fair which is
considered the biggest travel event in the Nordic region in terms of visitors. It
is taking place in Helsinki from January 15 to 18.
Another show, Fespo (January 22 to

annual show in Switzerland for Holidays, Sports and Leisure.
This month’s promotional shows will conclude with Feria International de
