Air New Zealand introduces New Year Fare deals to US and Pacific Islands

Travel News Asia 6 January 2004

Air New Zealand has welcomed the new year with a range of bargain air fares from Australia to the USA and five Pacific Island destinations.

The airline is offering special fares from throughout Australia to Los Angeles, and the Pacific nations of Cook Islands, Samoa, Fiji, Tahiti and Tonga.

"With the Australian dollar strengthening against the US dollar, America is becoming more and more affordable," said Air New Zealand's General Manager Australia Mr Michael Reed.

"And for those who don't want the Australian summer to end, the Pacific Islands provide a range of opportunities to get away from it all, right up until mid year."

In addition to providing special fares for freewheeling holidaymakers, the new deals are also ideal for visiting friends and relatives.

Departures are available from Air New Zealand's five Australian destinations - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Cairns and Perth - from 1 March to 25 June, with all travel to be completed by 30 June.

Prices per adult are listed below, including Australian taxes. Children aged 2 - 11 inclusive pay 75 per cent of the adult fare while the fare is 10 per cent of the adult rate for infants under 2 years.
