Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur offers Travel Agent Incentive

Travel News Asia 6 December 2004

Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur is rewarding bonafide travel agents a double bonus of 10% commission and an incentive of RM15 nett per room night for every room night booked with the five-star property. The double bonus reward is valid until February 28, 2005.

The reward scheme even extends to bookings made at less than 24 hours notice. For such eleventh-hour reservations, payment will be made directly to the hotel but with the respective agent continuing to earn their double bonus commission.

To celebrate the arrival of the luxury hotel group’s first property in Malaysia, the hotel has developed two innovative packages, Top Value Break (RM338++) and Maximum Value Break (RM298++), for travel agents to offer their customers. Applicable for Single and Double Deluxe room, both packages are inclusive of a RM100 nett Spending Credit which guests may redeem for any of the hotel’s services or facilities. In addition, the Top Value Break package includes a single round-trip KLIA Ekpres rail transfer.

According to Mr Brian S. Pirie, General Manager of Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur, the leisure market segment is just as important as the business travellers and “as this is Le Méridien’s first foray into the Malaysian hospitality scene, the hotel group is keen to establish long-term beneficial relationships with our key target audiences, one of whom is the travel agents.”

Mr Pirie added that “Malaysia is turning into a destination of choice, particularly with its neighbouring countries and the increased number of tourist arrivals since beginning of this year bears testimony to that. So by forging an amicable relationship with our partner travel agents, they will not only promote our property but the country as a whole.”

Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur has a total of 422 rooms, from Standard, Deluxe and Executive Rooms through to Executive, Terrace and Penthouse Suites. Each room is wired with 21st century technology, including a dedicated broadband dataport for fast internet access, two dedicated voice lines, a spacious well-lit work station, voicemail, IDD, satellite TV and an in-room safe equipped with laptop-charging portal. The hotel also provides wireless connectivity throughout all public areas of the hotel allowing guests to access, retrieve and send e-mails, ICQ, play online games, watch videos or conduct video conferencing through a wireless connection. The hotspots include the penthouse suite, lobby, restaurants and bars, executive lounge, pool deck, pre-function areas of the ballroom, the ballroom itself, nine function rooms, three boardrooms and the hotel’s signature restaurant, Al Nafourah.
