Amadeus today announced the appointment of Jean-Paul Hamon as
Executive Vice President (EVP), Development and President of its Nice-based development company.
Jacques Lignières, previously Senior Vice President, Development, retires
after 40 years of activity in the IT industry. "Jacques has made a unique
contribution to the Company", said José Antonio Tazón, CEO and President, Amadeus worldwide. "He has successfully led Amadeus'
software development operations through a critical and challenging time,
achieving worldwide recognition of our position as a global leader in the
supply of IT solutions to the travel industry."
As EVP Development of Amadeus, Jean-Paul Hamon will have
responsibilities for all Amadeus' software development branches. He will
manage a team of 1,500 people in six sites worldwide (Nice, London, Sydney, Antwerp, Frankfurt and Miami).
A French national, Jean-Paul graduated from l'École des Mines, Paris and
has extensive experience in the travel technology sector. He began his career in Operational Research initially at the French Defense Operations
Centre and then at Air France. In 1986 he was a core member of the group
that pioneered the creation of Amadeus, which he joined in 1988. Appointed
Senior Vice President, Development, his work grew in line with Amadeus' success and expansion. In March 1998, he left Amadeus to become
Executive Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information
Officer for Air France. In 2000 he joined the Amadeus Board of Directors.
