Finnair Technical Services and Russian airline Aeroflot have signed a
maintenance agreement for the technical support of DC10-40F cargo aircraft. The
agreement covers maintenance planning and equipment support, overhauls and
line maintenance support for four cargo aircraft at their home base of Frankfurt-Hahn airport in Germany, where Finnair Technical Services has staff.
The maintenance services begin June 15, 2004 with Finnair Technical Services'
taking over line maintenance responsibilities. In mid-July, the first DC10 aircraft
arrives in Helsinki for its month-long overhaul. The maintenance agreement is
signed for three years and its value is at least 15 million euro. The agreement
makes Aeroflot the second largest customer of Finnair Technical Services from
outside Finnair Group. The largest outside customer is Lufthansa Cargo.
Finnair Technical Services has trained 60 Aeroflot's Airbus A320 aircraft technical
staff since last summer. |
