Amadeus
has appointed Mr. Albert Villadolid as General
Manager of its operations in the Philippines. He is responsible for all aspects of the operations of the wholly owned National
Marketing Company (NMC).
Since its establishment in 1997, 'Amadeus Marketing Philippines, Inc.', has
revolutionised travel distribution in the market through its business partnership
strategy, a strategy which has enabled Amadeus to grow market share an average of five percentage points each year, for the last six years.
Albert brings to the position almost 18 years of management experience in the
travel and information technology industry, including five years with Philippine
Airlines (1986-1991) prior to its privatisation. One of only a handful of people in
the Philippines with more than a decade of in-depth computerised reservations
system experience, Albert played a key role in the local start-up and operations
of a regional computerised reservation system prior to joining Amadeus.
"Combining global strength with local expertise, Amadeus will continue to
deliver world-class customer service and support, and the full range of tailored
travel management solutions offering the latest technology to travel agents in the
Philippines", he said.
Mr. Tim Russell, Director, Market Management, Amadeus Asia Pacific, added,
"Since entering the market we are pleased to have had great support from the
travel agency community, as well as from Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and
Air Philippines. We look forward to building on these relationships, and to
delivering IT solutions that will continue to enable success within the Philippine
travel and tourism industry."
Albert, who holds both a Master's degree in Business Administration and a
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management Engineering, has more than ten
years experience as a part-time professor in strategic information systems and
e-business planning with a prestigious graduate business school.
Albert joins a team of 35 highly experienced professionals in two offices (Manila
& Cebu covering the entire Philippine archipelago, including Mindanao). He
replaces Mr. Peter Lam, who has recently been assigned Regional General Manager of Greater China for Amadeus. |
