Senior executives from airlines, airports, industry suppliers and investors will
descend on India for a major conference focusing on the rapidly-expanding
low-cost airline revolution in Asia and the Gulf on 5-6 July.
The Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation’s Low Cost Airline Symposium: Indian
Subcontinent and Gulf Region, which takes place in New Delhi, is expected to be
the biggest of the three symposiums staged by the consultancy and publications
group this year. More than 450 delegates attended the first two symposiums in
Singapore and Macau in February and April.
“We are currently finalising a very interesting programme of speakers, including
executives from low cost carriers in several regions, including India and Europe,
several full service carriers, industry suppliers, financiers, government and
tourism. It promises to be a very stimulating couple of days”, said Mr Peter
Harbison, Managing Director of the Centre.
Mr Harbison said that the programme for the symposium, to be released later this
month, will include presentations on: - the potential for, and unique characteristics of, low cost airlines in the Indian
Subcontinent and Gulf regions; - potential barriers operators may face; - likely competitive responses from full service carriers; and - the implications of low-cost carrier development for suppliers, governments and
tourism organisations. “A strong presence from airline delegates, as witnessed in Macau and Singapore,
offers attractive networking and business development opportunities,” according
to Mr Kapil Kaul, Vice President India & Subcontinent. Mr Kaul, who heads up the Centre’s presence in the region from its New Delhi
Office, said that an expanded range of sponsorship options and packages will be
available at this event. |
