The Oriental,
Singapore has appointed Mr. Rajesh Jhingon as the hotel's new General Manager, effective immediately.
A veteran within the hospitality industry, Mr. Jhingon brings with him eighteen
years' of experience to the hotel. Prior to joining The Oriental, Singapore Mr.
Jhingon was the General Manager of Taj Exotica Resort and Spa in Maldives from
2001 to 2003, where he led his team and staff to win various prestigious
accolades, such as the "Best Hotel Resort 2002", voted by Harpers and
Queen.
Mr. Jhingon was also directly responsible for the development and launch of
Amarvilas, Agra, in India, which received "Gallivanters Guide Resort of the Year
2001" within the year which Mr. Jhingon was its General Manager.
From year 1994 to 1997, Mr. Jhingon was the Executive Assistant Manager
(EAM) of The Oberoi, Bombay, and subsequently the EAM of The Oberoi, New Delhi in
India. Mr. Jhingon developed operational standards and directed the Sales and
Marketing Division in brand positioning to achieve greater market share.
His international experience includes senior positions in India, Guam and France.
He also holds a Masters Degree in Hospitality Management, credited by Institut de
Management Hotelier International, Paris, France, jointly administered by Cornell
University, USA and the ESSEC Graduate School of Business, Paris France. |
