Holiday Inn Resort Phuket closed until Further Notice, Phi Phi Operational

The Holiday Inn Resort Phi Phi Island is fully operational and continuing to welcome guests. The resort's accommodation, restaurants and recreational areas were undamaged by the tsunami.

Whilst Holiday Inn Resort Phi Phi Island has sustained no damage, Phi Phi Island has experienced severe areas of damage which has reduced the availability of activities provided in and around the Island. Tonsai Bay, located on the opposite side of the island is closed, ocean activities are available however are limited due to supply of speed boats and longboats, the touring of neighboring islands will also be limited initially.

The Holiday Inn Resort Phi Phi Island is holding all bookings for the resort on a confirmed basis.

The resorts usual ferry transfer provider, Andaman Wave Master, has reduced the number of sailings each day. They now operate a single departure from Phuket Town (Fisheries Authority Pier) at 10:00 daily, arriving at the Holiday Inn Beach in Phi Phi at approximately 12:00. This service departs the Holiday Inn Beach at 14:00 daily for return to Phuket Town, on the eastern side of the island. Road transfers to/from Phuket Airport remain unaffected. Should travellers require transfers outside of these times, they should contact the hotel directly to discuss speedboat options and prices. Andaman Wave Master have advised that this schedule is subject to change so please ensure that all transfers to/from Phi Phi Island are reconfirmed prior to travel.

Understanding travelers may wish to cancel or postpone bookings, the Holiday Inn Resort Phi Phi Island has confirmed there will be no penalty and all deposits paid for bookings made directly with the resort will be refunded for arrivals prior to 31 January 2005.

For bookings arriving from 1 February 2005 booking terms remain the same as at the time of confirmation.

Holiday Inn Resort Phuket, Thailand

The Holiday Inn Resort Phuket has required closure after the impact of the tsunami to undergo repairs. All guests have been evacuated from the property.

The hotel is presently assessing the full effect of the tsunami on the property to be able to provide a realistic re-opening date. In the interim the hotel has been forced to confirm that it is unable to honor bookings arriving prior to 30 April 2005.
