Frederic Gagey joins KLM as Chief Financial Officer

The Supervisory Board of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines intends to appoint Frédéric Gagey (48) as Chief Financial Officer of KLM nv. Mr. Gagey, who currently holds the position of Vice President - Finance for Air France, will join KLM on January 1, 2005 and will succeed Rob Ruijter, who leaves KLM on December 1, 2004.

The appointment of Frédéric Gagey is in line with the Air France - KLM framework agreement, signed in October 2003. The General Meeting of Shareholders of KLM nv will be given notice of the intended appointment of Mr. Gagey as Managing Director at its annual meeting of 2005. Next to the appointment of an Air France executive to the KLM Board, a KLM executive will be appointed as a member of the Executive Committee of Air France.

Frédéric Gagey is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Economique (ENSAE). He also holds a Masters in Economics from the Université de Paris 1. Gagey started his career at the French Bureau of Statistics (INSEE) and the French Ministry of Finance. From September 1994 until April 1997, he served as Vice President - Budget & Control at the French domestic carrier Air Inter. After the merger between Air Inter and Air France in April 1997, Gagey became Vice President for privatization and financial communication for Air France. In 1999, Frederic Gagey was promoted to the post he currently holds. Frédéric Gagey is a board member of Brit Air, CityJet, Regional and Servair.
