Continuing its aggressive Asia Pacific expansion InterContinental Hotels Group
has secured six management agreements and one Holiday Inn franchise agreement in the past two months. These hotels will add to Holiday Inn's rapidly
growing distribution in the region, increasing from 79 currently opened hotels to
a network of more than 120 hotels beyond 2005.

we are further strengthening Holiday Inn's position as the preferred choice of
travellers and investors."
North Asia (Greater China, Japan & Korea)
Currently, there are 33 Holiday Inn hotels and resorts in North Asia, of which 24
Holiday Inn hotels and resorts are in China, seven in Japan and one in Korea.
With five current additions, and more in the pipeline, the
Holiday Inn's North Asia portfolio will include 60 hotels beyond 2005.
Holiday Inn Shipu Guangzhou is a 270-guest room new build hotel that is
scheduled to open in December 2004. Guangzhou Xiguan Era Plaza Real Estate
Development Co. Ltd. owns the proposed hotel, which will be located in Di Shi
Fu, Liwan District in Guangzhou, just 500m away from the Guangzhou diplomatic
region and within the famous commercial area and tourist destination of Shang
Xia Jiu.
Holiday Inn Jiangmen is owned by the National Tax Bureau of Jiangmen City,
Guangdong. Situated in the most developed south central sector of the Pearl
River Delta, the proposed new build hotel will have close to 220 guest rooms as
well as excellent meeting facilities, targeting the 4,000 enterprises located in
Jiangmen. Holiday Inn Jiangmen is scheduled to open in December 2004.
Holiday Inn Linyi Shandong
located in the
Nanshan district of Linyi, which has become the second largest wholesale
destination in China and a key trade centre in Shandong, the proposed new
build 26-storey hotel will have more than 340 rooms. The hotel is owned by Linyi
Hua Qiao Real Estate Development Co. Ltd. and is expected to open in October
2004.
Holiday Inn Resort Sanya Bay is owned by Sanya Zhongtai Investment Co. Ltd.
The new build hotel, located in Sanya not far from the Sanya Airport in
Hainan, will have more than 220 rooms and is expected to open in August 2004. This is the
second resort in Sanya Bay for InterContinental Hotels Group.
Holiday Inn Seongbuk-Gu in Northern Seoul
the
town of Seongbuk-Gu has been earmarked for redevelopment as a central town by the city government. The close to 130-guest room hotel is owned
by the Woo Young Development Co. Ltd. and is scheduled to re-open in April
2004.
Indonesia
Currently, InterContinental Hotels Group's Indonesia portfolio consists of six
hotels and resorts, of which three are Holiday Inn branded. Two new Holiday Inn
management contracts reinforce the Group's commitment to Indonesia, with
expansion of its brand network in that key market.
Holiday Inn
Bekasi, which will open in 2006, is located in Bekasi Timur, on the
city fringe of Jakarta. PT. Rekapastika Asri, a real estate development company,
owns the proposed 150-guest room hotel, which will also have 50 long stay
suites. The Blue Oasis City development, of which Holiday Inn Bekasi is a part,
will also house condominiums and a shopping mall.
Holiday Inn Bogor will be the first international hotel in Central Bogor, east of
Jakarta. Located in the city centre, the new-build hotel will cater to both business
and leisure travellers, particularly from Europe. Owned by PT Mirah Segar, a
leading real estate developer in Bogor, the 180-guest room Holiday Inn Bogor
will boast unobstructed views of the Botanical Garden. Holiday inn
Bogor will open end of 2005. |
